Small Space, Big Vision: Bellevue Media Wall Built for Living

Year:

2025

This 1992 home presented a familiar design challenge: how to transform a modest, constricted living-room footprint into a multifunctional media hub without overwhelming the architecture around it. The family of four who lives here, led by a self-described A/V enthusiast, came to Lakeville with a clear vision, careful research, and even a 2-D drawing in hand. Their excitement, decisiveness, and warmth made them some of Lakeville’s favorite clients of 2025.

Referred by a neighbor Lakeville had worked with previously, the homeowners wanted a space where style, storage, and performance carried equal weight. Their wish list included custom built-ins for audio-video equipment, concealed storage, a streamlined electric fireplace, dedicated space for a wine cooler, and integrated surround-sound wiring, all while maintaining symmetry and visual balance.

Working within tight spatial constraints, Lakeville designed custom nooks and cabinetry that feel intentional rather than crowded. The new SimpliFire Allusion Slim 72" electric fireplace anchors the composition with nine flame colors, 14 ember-bed settings, and a clean front trim. Adjacent, the Avallon dual-zone wine cooler tucks neatly into the millwork and adds both utility and sophistication. Updated recessed lighting and selective interior repainting soften the edges and connect the new elements seamlessly with the existing home.

The result is an elevated, highly functional media wall that brings together technology, craftsmanship, and thoughtful detailing. Completed on time and within budget, this remodel redefined the room without redefining the home, creating a space that feels custom-built for the way this family lives, relaxes, and entertains.
