When repeat clients call us back with a new idea, we know we’ve done our job right.

This Mercer Island family first partnered with Lakeville for a major whole-home remodel in 2022–2023, transforming their 1990s residence into a light-filled, highly functional home designed for everyday living and long-term comfort. From opening up the floor plan and strengthening the connection between indoor and outdoor spaces, to creating a stunning backyard retreat and reimagining the kitchen, entry, and media spaces, that project was rooted in trust, collaboration, and a shared vision.

Fast forward to today, another exciting opportunity. This time, the goal was to convert an underused, concrete-walled basement storage room into a fully functional home gym, one that actually makes you want to work out.

The scope included removing and reframing walls, adding a new exterior door that seamlessly blends with the home’s existing architecture, and installing a dedicated interior gym entrance. We framed a large storage closet with bi-pass doors, upgraded electrical to support new surface-mounted ceiling fixtures, insulated the ceiling for sound control, and wrapped, finished, and painted the walls and ceiling. The final touch: durable rubber gym flooring designed to perform as hard as the homeowners do.

The before-and-after tells the story best. What was once dark, cold, and utilitarian is now bright, clean, and energizing. It’s a space built with intention, tailored to how this family lives now, and designed to evolve with them.
